Patient Transport

Some people may be eligible for patient transport which is a non-emergency service to get people to medical appointments.

The service provides free transport to people who have medical conditions and may need support during a journey, people who find it difficult to walk, and parents or guardians of children being transported.

For more information on this service, you can contact your GP or healthcare professional.

In Tyne and Wear and across the North West, patient transport services are operated by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).
