From 2023, Bristol Cruise Terminal at Avonmouth and Portbury Docks offers access for cruise liners.

Key tips

  • It is advisable to book tickets before travelling and confirm any required travel assistance at the same time.
  • Check your route to the boat or ferry is accessible if you have reduced mobility or are travelling with mobility equipment.

Travelling with mobility equipment

Bristol Ferry Boats

The Brigantia boat has some provision for wheelchair users. A platform lift is available; however, it may not be possible to accommodate larger wheelchairs, scooters and heavy electric chairs. You can find further details here.

Level access at ferry stops cannot be guaranteed; however, the crew are able to assist.

Wheelchair users should contact Bristol Ferry Boats a few days in advance, so that the appropriate vessel can be made available.

Number Seven Boat Trips

The Mary Brunel boat has some wheelchair access, but it is recommended to check with the operator in advance of travel to confirm requirements.

Routes and timetable links

Always check arrangements with the transport provider before travelling. Level access to boats may be difficult for passengers with restricted mobility and those using mobility equipment, due to the tidal range at the docks.
