South London ShopMobility UK

Overview

ShopMobility UK is a nationwide network of centres which hire out mobility equipment to the public. This equipment is wheelchairs, powerchairs and mobility scooters so people with restricted mobility can enjoy independence outdoors.

Anyone of any age can use local ShopMobility services. ShopMobility is not only for elderly individuals or people with chronic disabilities, but it also provides support for those restricted by a temporary illness or injury including broken legs or recovery after an operation. You don’t need to be a Blue Badge holder or reside in a London borough to use the service. Whatever your need, each centre is ready to help you access your local shops and facilities with appropriate mobility equipment. ShopMobility centres tend to be in shopping centre car parks with parking spaces and drop off points.

Hire costs vary at each local ShopMobility Centre; however, typically they are very low or sometimes free. Some schemes include car parking costs in the fee. Opening times may vary and some schemes are staffed by volunteers.

The national ShopMobility UK website is https://www.shopmobilityuk.org
